For the past 50 years, NORD Gear Corporation, known globally as NORD Drivesystems, has introduced new practices in overcoming common problems. In the early 1980’s, NORD engineers developed one of the most important innovations in gearbox construction: the UNICASE™ housing. The UNICASE™ housing quickly established itself in the market and today it is still the industry standard. Protective features that followed, such as AUTOVENT™ and QUADRILIP™ sealing, are examples of innovative solutions NORD developed for the power transmission industry. Remaining a privately held, family owned company, NORD continually invests in the most modern production equipment and ensures raw materials are of high quality. NORD drive components are designed according to DIN, ISO and AGMA standards. NORD Drivesystems is also ISO 9001 certified and is constantly improving their quality system to ensure customers receive the best product in the power transmission industry. NORD drive solutions are made to the highest precision and are used in the most demanding applications.

To ensure both global and national standards, NORD Gear is excited to announce joining the American Gear Manufacturers Association, becoming one of the 400+ members of the group commonly referred to as "AGMA". Since 1965, NORD has become well established in the power transmission industry and grown to global proportions on the strength of product performance, superior customer service, and intelligent drive solutions. NORD's decision to join AGMA is based on quality standards and their current focus, success and future growth of MAXXDRIVE™, the company's product line for the large industrial gear industry.

For NORD, the affiliation with AGMA is easy to understand as both are driven by standards, innovation and believe in a global philosophy. AGMA has members in over 30 nations which complements NORD's representation in over 60 coun-tries around the world. AGMA, founded in 1916 and headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia, is a voluntary member associa-tion of companies and individuals solely focused in the design, application and manufacturing of gears, couplings, components and equipment related to the power transmission industry. AGMA is accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) to write all U.S. standards on gearing and for over 90 years, has written standards for the gear manufacturing industry that are International Organization for Standardization (ISO) compliant. NORD looks forward to participating in the wide range of quality programs and services that AGMA offers its members and is eager to participate in the member-to-member communications forum. From this forum, members can communicate, problem solve, and discuss related issues. NORD's high quality and service standards result from being customer focused. Together, NORD and their clients are building successful, long term business relationships and this philosophy is further strengthened with its affiliation with the American Gear Manufacturers Association.
