Drive solutions for the airport industry: inter airport Europe 2017

The 21st international trade fair for airport equipment, technology, design and service took place from 10 to 13 October 2017. inter airport Europe is the world’s leading trade fair for the airport industry and takes place every two years. This year, the focus was on topics such as digitalisation and automation. NORD DRIVESYSTEMS attended this year's trade fair in Munich and presented innovative drive solutions for baggage handling logistics systems at airports.

Among other products, NORD displayed its NORDAC LINK field distribution system – a drive control which can be flexibly installed close to the motor. NORDAC LINK is available as a frequency inverter (up to 7.5 kW) and as a motor starter (up to 3 kW) and can be freely configured depending on requirements and the application. The field distribution system supports all common bus systems and can be easily integrated into modern automated systems. NORDAC LINK is also used in the energy-efficient, maintenance-friendly and standardised drive solutions for intralogistics and airport applications – LogiDrive. Trade visitors showed particular interest in this solution. In addition to energy savings, the standardisation of geared motor versions enables a reduction in spare part stocks and lowers the need for technical planning. Apart from new products and intelligent drive solutions, NORD also presented its comprehensive services for project planning. NORD supports plant constructors and operators with drive solutions that match the customer’s needs, through all project phases – from initial design and commissioning to post-sale service and support.

For NORD DRIVESYSTEMS, the inter airport Europe trade fair was a complete success. Our experts for intralogistics solutions were very pleased about the great number of trade visitors at NORD’s stand, the interest they had in all presented products and solutions, as well as the new contacts from throughout the world that were established during the trade fair. And there was yet another reason to celebrate: Together with its supporters, the association German Airport Technology & Equipment (GATE) celebrated its 25th anniversary at the trade fair. As a sponsoring member of GATE, NORD did not miss out on the celebrations.
